About Us

Incepted in 1974, Milkfood Limited is a manufacturer and exporter of varied milk products. We specializes in innovative ways of using milk. This innovation extends to producing value-added milk extracts: Casein and Whey Powder. The high-end extracts are further used in several industries to make the most amazing things. State-of-the-art facilities, high capacity machinery are just few of the things we are proud of. While Milk Powders and Pure Ghee are our core products, we also deal in high-end Casein and Demineralised Whey Powder. It is interesting to note that casein and whey powder are used in the production of chocolates, ice cream, coffee whiteners, health supplements, infant food, nutritional beverages, cheese, etc.

We are a part of the Jagatjit Group, with its headquarters in the national capital city of Delhi. We are also located at Hamira in Jalandhar (Punjab), at the heart of a milk producing region. We have two streams of world class products rolling out of its twin product divisions, namely Dairy and Distillery. At Milkfood Limited we use the latest technology to do astonishing things with milk. Technology, expertise, machinery and more, we use the best of resources. From steam turbines to online monitoring of processes, from using alternative energy sources to high capacity machinery, we use it all. We are certified for ISO 9001:2000, HACCP Warranty (food safety), and ISO:14001 (Environment Management). The products are Kosher Certified too.

Our Infrastructure

Our facilities include ultra modern machinery, supplied by reputed manufacturers, plant engineering by export professionals in the dairy field, fully automated and PLC controlled plant, etc. We also have a fully-equipped integrated laboratory dedicated to research & development and for continuous improvement of our products. We have three plants located at the heart of milk producing cities and town.

Patiala Plant: Located 250 kms north of New Delhi at Bahadurgarh on National Highway, this 12 acre plant is capable of handling 500 MT of milk per day.

Hamira Plant: Located approximately 30 kms north of Jalandhar on G.T Road, the plant has a capacity to process 500 MT of Milk per day.

Moradabad: Started in November 2005, this plant is located approx. 200 kms from New Delhi at Agwanpur on the Moradabad Kanth Road is capable of handling 500 metric tonnes of milk per day.

In addition, our machinery are imported from reputed brands all across the globe. Some of our esteemed machines are from Westfalia Separators, Germany, Tetrapack, Sweden, Alfa Laval, Sweden, Sepporalli Evaporators, Finland, Faraiand Sazan Novin Co. Iran, Pentagon Turbines and others.

Whether packaging takes the form of PET or tetra packs, plastic cups, sealed bags, or cans, it must protect the contents from light and oxygen, be environmental friendly and sport an attractive design. Our eye-catching packaging follows international standards of quality control and sports the striking logo that has been our hallmark since inception.

Our Quality

Raw milk must be tested for everything from fat and protein content to contamination of antibiotics. Trucks and tankers must be emptied and cleaned, volume must be measured exactly for accounting purposes and production planning. During milk processing, raw milk must be converted to standardized milk with a set fat content. The process requires cleaning, separating into low fat milk and cream, adjusting the fat content, pasteurizing, chilling and storage.

Butter production needs a lot of care to be put into the treating, heating, degasifying, cooling and ripening of the cream. This cream is then churned in huge churners that are fully automated. The goal is to get just the right butter with rich aroma and granular texture that are the recognizable characteristics of our pure ghee.

Our acid casein production: acid whey is produced as a valuable fractionation product that is pasteurized, membrane-processed to reduce mineral load, passed through ion exchange columns, to further demineralise the product, evaporated and spray dried and marketed to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Our process control systems ensure that everything must be coordinated and uniform.
